Rain gear made by the people who make the fabric
Citizen has been manufacturing in Gujarat since 1882. We are not a label that buys finished goods and adds a logo. We choose the yarn, weave the cloth, coat it, cut it, stitch it and rain test it, inside our own units.

One family, one factory, a lot of rain
Citizen started as a weaving business in 1882 and never stopped making its own cloth. Four generations later the looms still run in Gujarat, and the raincoat you buy from us is cut from fabric we wove and coated ourselves.
That is unusual. Most rainwear brands in India buy finished fabric, stitch it and ship it. We do the difficult, unglamorous part first, because the way a raincoat behaves in its third monsoon is decided at the loom and the coating line, not at the sewing table.

1882
The first loom
The family begins weaving cloth in India. Everything Citizen makes today still starts with fabric we control.

From cloth to finished gear
Weaving turns into stitching. Citizen starts making finished products instead of selling fabric alone.

Monsoon focus
Built for Indian rain
Coatings, storm flaps and hoods are tuned for heavy rain, high humidity and long two wheeler commutes.

Today
Gujarat, end to end
Our units run yarn to carton in one place: weaving, coating, cutting, stitching, quality control and packing.

Now
Beyond rainwear
The same fabric control goes into ergonomic school bags, padded laptop backpacks and wind tested umbrellas.
What we refuse to compromise on
- Test before we sellSpray and hydrostatic head testing on every batch. If a seam wicks, the batch does not leave the floor.
- Own the hard partWeaving and coating stay in house, so quality is our decision and never a supplier's.
- Price without the markupNothing sits between our mill and the shelf, so you pay for the product and not the chain.
- Answer the phoneCall or write and you reach Citizen, not a reseller. The people who made your bag answer the question.
Made end to end, under one roof
Four steps, all of them ours. Nothing is handed to an outside job shop, so a problem is caught by the same team that made it.
Bulk & B2B orders- Woven in houseWe pick the yarn and set the weave density on our own looms.
- Coated and sealedWaterproofing goes on in our own coating plant, never a job shop.
- Rain testedSpray and hydrostatic head tests on every batch before it is cut.
- Finished and checkedStitching, QC and packing happen in our own units, so nothing slips.
